Mario Kart 8

Mario Kart is a racing game and is one of our all time favourites. Characters from the Mario universe race against each other in go-karts, collecting items from boxes along the way to help them.

What type of game is it?

It is a racing game. You can play online with up to 12 players. First you have to pick your character and there are over 50 to choose from. Next you have to pick your vehicle, there are karts, quads and motorbikes. The coolest bit is that you get to customise your vehicle with different chassis, wheels and gliders.

Next you have to choose your game mode; Grand Prix, Race or Battle Mode or online racing.

There are 48 race tracks in total. My favourite race track is; Hyrule circuit because there are lots of shortcuts and you can get good boosts.

Our favourite game mode is Grand Prix; first choose the race that you want to take part in, like; The Super Bell cup and The Triforce Cup. There are four races in a Grand Prix on different tracks.

What is the game about?

During the game you have to try and race around the track and speed over the antigravity panels. You can go underwater, fly through the sky with your glider, wiz upside down with anti gravity, go through the mountains, deserts, jungles and inside a haunted house.

You have to try and avoid shells, and bombs thrown by other players and bananas dropped on the track to make you skid and slow you down.

There are many types of racing games but we find this the best because I love how you can race up the walls with anti gravity and the stunts you can pull. We also love that you can use amiibos in the game to unlock suits for your mii. See the trailer below...

Pokemon Go

For this instalment of Gamer Zone I am going to introduce you to...  What is Pokemon Go? Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game. It was developed as an app. In the game, players use GPS to find, capture, battle, and train Pokémon, who appear on the screen as if they are real. You follow a map and walk to Pokestops collecting Pokemon that show up along the way.  Watch the following Video to find out more.
